WOMEN IN BUSINESS

EMPOWERED, CONFIDENT AND IN CONTROL

as a woman, when do you feel the most empowered?

“I find great fulfilment and empowerment in helping individuals reach their goals. Being a part of someone else’s journey and contributing to their success is incredibly rewarding. Simultaneously, I embrace the opportunity to learn from those I assist. Each person brings a unique set of experiences and insights, and by being open to constant learning, I not only contribute to their growth but also enhance my own knowledge and skills. It’s a mutually beneficial process, creating a supportive community where everyone can thrive within both a work and personal environment.”

Paulina - People & Culture Business Partner

what’s the most important piece of advice you’d give the future generation of women?

“Make time for yourself. When you fill your cup with things that you enjoy and value, you are able to be the best version of yourself to others.”

Lauren - Retail Education Manager

what’s the most important piece of advice you’ve been given as a woman?

“I grew with my grandma advising me that I needed to be financially self sufficient and not be dependant on anyone. She was one of the rare women of her generation working full time and I’ve always viewed her as my inspiration.”

Marine – Head of Marketing

how important is it for women to empower one another and what does that mean to you?

“I feel this is one of the most important beliefs I’ve adapted in my career. Working in an industry with a lot of women can be quite competitive. I’ve always tried to nurture and help women grow who I have managed over the years. I love to see women happy, successful, and empowered in their careers and if I can help with this, I see it as a privilege to be able to do so.”

Lyndal – Head of Creative

if you could meet one inspirational woman, past or present, who would it be and why?

“If I could meet one inspirational woman in history it would be Coco Chanel. She was not only an iconic fashion designer, but an incredible businesswoman. She started with one hat shop and built an empire. I strive to be strong businesswoman and build an empire for my family. “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” Coco Chanel. I think this sums up how being a woman, we can do it all! It’s a matter of always changing and adapting and doing things differently to those of our counterparts.”

Lindsay – National Retail Manager

what do you think is the biggest issue today facing women your age?

“I believe one of the biggest issues facing women of my age and women in general is the pressure to constantly compare ourselves to others. Whether it’s appearance, achievements or lifestyle, the need to compare can create feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt. This not only affects our self-confidence but also limits our ability to support and uplift each other. I believe it’s crucial that we create a new culture of acceptance and self-love where every woman feels empowered to embrace herself for who she is and to pursue her dreams.”

Alissa – Business Operations Manager

how important is gender equality to you within the workforce?

‘Gender equality is very important to me within the workplace in order to show the younger generations that women are powerful in workplaces and can be leaders. I love seeing women in leadership and be able to look up to them. It really empowers the younger generation and sets a standard of what we as women can achieve.”

Leah – Retail Education Manager

as a boy Mum, what are some of the qualities you’ve instilled (or hope to instil) in your son/s to empower gender equality?

“As a Mum of 3 boys (7, 4 and 1 year old) and one little girl (2 year old) I feel destined to raise great men and there are a few things I want them to know: Treat her as an individual - she too can be just as clever, funny, smart, and strong. Don’t mistake her kindness for weakness – her inner strength is just as powerful as your physical strength.

Know that in this world women need to be a little more cautious, brave and in tune of what is happening around them, show compassion and understanding always.”
